UK fintech Bourn has listed its platform on the Xero App Store. The integration enables small businesses and finance providers to connect Bourn directly with their Xero accounting data, allowing lenders to deliver, and SMEs to access embedded working capital solutions.
The launch expands Bourn’s integrations with accounting platforms and reflects the growing shift toward embedded finance, where financial services are delivered inside the digital tools businesses already use.
Bourn’s flagship product, the Flexible Trade Account (FTA), enables banks and non-bank finance providers to deliver receivables-backed working capital facilities to SMEs. By connecting accounting and banking data, such as debtor balances and payment history, the platform supports faster credit assessment and automated reconciliation.

The company aims to address a significant challenge facing UK small businesses. SMEs currently face a funding gap estimated at up to £95 billion, while traditional overdraft lending has declined sharply in recent years.
By combining open finance data, accounting integrations and AI-enabled risk analysis, Bourn’s infrastructure enables lenders (like NatWest and Investec) to deliver more flexible working capital products embedded within business financial workflows.
